One thing that I have learned that has proved to be the most useful in my composition process is when doing research about a topic it’s not bout summarizing but writing what is the main points of the topic and choosing what we want the reader to know about the specific topic. This helped me a lot in many of our assignments but mostly in the Literature Review. This semester I’ve learned many things like how to become a better field worker and to reflect on my writing like what things I can fixed to become a better writer.

Yes, writing a reverse outline did help me. It helped me as a writer to see what my objective was and it allowed me to evaluate my ideas. It also helped me see a version of what I wrote. I will used the reverse outline strategy it in the future for revision of my writing when doing an essay.

What I see as the benefits of a literature review in the social sciences is that literature reviews provide background information and context for the research problem. And explains why your topic matters. The work I’m doing aligns with this benefits by me summarizing many amounts of information from different sources to provide a comprehensive overview to the reader about my topic. An aspect of my literature review that interest me the most was since my topic was on business etiquette it was surprising to see that many of today’s generation don’t have training on business etiquette and how they lack manners in the workplace. It was interesting to me because I didn’t really expect that from today’s generation. The intended point was for people to learn what proper business etiquette is since today’s generation lacks it. To bring this point to the forefront in my document I needed to bring background context of my topic.

A learning objective I have engaged with it this semester was how to become a better field worker. We have used field work all throughout the semester. We have been learning about fieldwork since the beginning of the semester, first with our Interview Essay. In our interview essay we focus on learning what is fieldwork? Why do we studied it? Fieldwork helps us to understand how we can make observations of conversation, interviews, etc. Field working has helped me with learning from real life experiences. It helped me to better communicate, with data collection, and how to conduct interviews. We used field working during the Transcultural Interview Essay and the Field Observation Essay as I mentioned. I’ve engaged with it during both of those essays. In Transcultural essay I had to learn how to interview someone. And in the Field Observation Essay I had to learn how to observe and collect the right data. I’ve developed in this by understanding more fieldwork and becoming a better fieldworker.
